1. Purchasing Agent

Responsibilities include purchasing raw material, shop supplies, job supplies, tools, steel, specialty buy-outs, equipment, and subcontractor services. Position requires the preparation of request for bids, and monitors bid evaluations considering price, terms, and delivery. Makes recommendations for final buy decisions. Also responsible for expediting awarded purchase orders.
Qualified person should have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, business, or applied science. Some experience as purchasing clerk, expediter, junior buyer, or assistant buyer or possess some construction industry experience is needed.  Must have the ability to analyze suppliers’ proposals and have good communication, negotiation, and mathematical skills. Candidate must be very detail oriented, organized, and able to prioritize work with multiple projects on a day-to-day basis, able to meet deadlines, good at decision making and be extremely organized. Requires excellent computer (Word/Excel) and communications skills.  This position requires resourcefulness, good judgment, self-confidence and the ability to perform financial analyses.

 

2. Miscellaneous Iron Estimator:
We are seeking an estimator with minimum 5 years experience for quantity take-offs and labor unit estimating of CSI Division 05500 “Metal fabrications” for large commercial and high rise building projects in the NY/NJ Metro area.
The candidate must be very detail oriented, organized, able to prioritize work with multiple projects on a day-to-day basis, able to meet deadlines, also have excellent computer and communications skills. We prefer a candidate with a degree in building construction, construction management, construction science, engineering, or architecture. However, will accept estimators with considerable construction experience. Applicants with a thorough knowledge of Miscellaneous Ironwork (stairs, rails, etc) and some engineering knowledge are ideal.
Responsibilities would include: Prepare and review quantity take-offs; review construction project plans, requirements, drawing and specification; prepare and review accurate material take-off of stairways, railings, ladders, and all metal fabrications.
Candidate must have an aptitude for mathematics; be able to quickly analyze, compare, and interpret detailed but sometimes poorly defined drawings, and be able to make sound and accurate judgments based on this information. Assertiveness and self-confidence in presenting and supporting one’s conclusions are important, as are strong communications and interpersonal skills.

3. Project Manager:

We are seeking an experienced, proactive project manager with proven leadership ability, who’s comfortable with all facets of miscellaneous iron in a fast paced environment.
Candidates should have 5 years experience in the steel construction industry and possess excellent communication and decision-making skills. Engineering knowledge helpful.

4. Miscellaneous Iron Detailer:
We are seeking a Draftsman/Detailer with minimum 5 years experience detailing and preparing shop drawings for large commercial and high rise building projects in the NY/NJ Metro area.
Candidate must be very detail oriented and organized. We prefer a candidate with a degree in mathematics, construction technology, drafting, engineering, or architecture. However, we will accept Detailers with considerable job related experience. Applicants with a thorough knowledge of shop fabrication practices of Miscellaneous Ironwork (stairs, rails, etc) and some engineering knowledge are ideal.
Responsibilities would include: Review construction project plans, prepare shop drawings for approval, shop details of stairways, railings, ladders, and all metal fabrications.
Candidate must have an aptitude for mathematics; be able to quickly analyze, compare, from contract architectural and structural drawings. Strong communications and interpersonal skills are a plus.

5. Fabricator:
We are seeking an experienced F/T welder/fabricator to layout and TIG weld stainless steel, brass, and aluminum for new Architectural Railings division. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, read blueprints, operate all shop tools and have a minimum of 3 years experience in brass, stainless and aluminum railings.

6. Layer-out / Fabricator:
We are seeking an experienced layer-out / fabricator for our architectural railings division. The candidate must have excellent communication & supervisory skills, in addition to a minimum of 5 yrs experience working with brass, stainless steel or aluminum railings.
