PAPP IRON WORKS DONATES TO THE
OPERATION SHOEBOX
The employees of
Papp Iron Works dug deep into their pockets and on Wednesday May 23rd
presented Rod Hirsch, Executive Director of Operation Shoebox of NJ,
a check for $2,000.00. “This donation couldn’t have come at a
better time” said Rod Hirsch, “We have some many donated items but
were lacking the funds to pay for the shipping costs and now our
prayers are answered”.

Papp Iron Works
had previously adopted 2 soldiers, one the son of a subcontractor
serving in Iraq and the other, the daughter of a Client’s Project
Engineer serving in Afghanistan. “We wanted to show our service men
and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan that they are not
forgotten and that we appreciate their service to our country” said
Allan Papp, President of Papp Iron Works. Allan Papp stated that a
majority of its 85 employees participated in the fund drive.

Operation Shoebox New Jersey, founded in
February, 2005, is an all-volunteer grass roots organization
dedicated to collecting donated supplies and shipping care packages
to U.S. troops based in Iraq, Afghanistan and other Middle East
countries.

Papp Iron Works is
a nearly 60 year old steel construction firm specializing in
miscellaneous metals for large commercial projects. Papp Iron Works
has participated on many of the states largest projects, including
the state’s tallest buildings as well as the New Jersey Performing
Arts Center and various other projects throughout NJ and New York
City.
