In keeping with its
tradition of charitable giving, PAPP IRON WORKS has donated the
following items to those less fortunate.
Donated a total of 114
children’s book for each child to take home from The King's Daughters
Day School located
in Plainfield, NJ. The mission of the Day School is to provide children
of working parents with developmentally appropriate educational programs
in a nurturing environment in order to build a foundation for becoming
responsible, productive members of society. To foster literacy and
encourage a lifelong love of reading, it is necessary for to children
read at home as well as at school. Many of The King’s Daughters
families cannot afford such luxuries as books.
Donated clothing for
15 adults through the Agapé House located in Somerville, NJ. We
provided 15 winter coats along with accessories, 21 pairs of pants, 19
shirts and 15 packs of socks. Volunteers of America Delaware Valley
established Agapé House in 1988 as the first shelter for homeless
families in Somerset County. The mission of Agapé House is to provide
shelter and compassionate, supportive services to homeless families and
individuals so that they may achieve self-sufficiency and independent
living. Agapé House is a 60-bed facility providing emergency shelter,
child enrichment activities and services to homeless families, single
women and children. Residents are provided with 24-hour staff support
and supervision, case management, workshops, housing, supplemental food,
clothing and household items.
Supporting America's
military in their time of need, we once again are providing funding to
the Fisher House for 20 families to be close to a loved one at
the most stressful time -- during hospitalization for a combat injury or
illness. The funding we’ve provided allows 7 weeks lodging for 20
families of injured servicemen at the Womack Army Medical Center located
at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Fisher House is non-profit organization
that provides “a home away from home” for families of active duty
servicemen receiving medical care at major Military and VA medical
centers throughout the country. Learn more at www.fisherhouse.org
A special thanks to Leah Papp and Keisha Culver of Papp Iron Works Inc.,
who as project managers for this undertaking, shopped for the books, and
clothes and actually delivered them to 2 of the receiving agencies. |
